The Kiwanis Club of Tallahassee Northside is just one part of a large family of service-minded individuals. A key part of our mission is sponsoring Service Leadership Programs that provide leadership and service opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. This allows us to mentor the next generation of leaders and empower adults in our community to make a difference.
Guiding University Students
Tallahassee State College Circle K International (CKI)
Circle K International (CKI) is the world’s largest student-led collegiate service organization. The Kiwanis Club of Tallahassee Northside is the proud sponsor of the CKI club at Tallahassee State College (TSC).
Gavin Boone serves as the current Kiwanis Advisor to the TSC CKI club.
In this role, he provides mentorship and guidance to the college students as they plan and execute their own service projects, fundraise for causes like Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, and attend district-wide leadership events like the Leadership Training Conference (LTC) at Camp Kiwanis.
Empowering Adults with Disabilities
In the Spotlight: Our Partnership with Aktion Club
The Kiwanis family also includes Aktion Club, the only service organization for adults with disabilities.
Our club has a deep, personal connection to this program: Gavin Boone proudly advises the Celebration Baptist Church Aktion Club, and our Secretary, Debbie Wade, serves as the official club sponsor.
This partnership was on full display at the 2025 Florida Kiwanis District Convention, where Celebration Aktion Club member Daniel Lewis took the stage to share his story.
In his passionate speech, Daniel described the incredible service his club performs—from creating blessing bags for the homeless to holding shoe drives and providing disaster relief.
Watch his full speech below to see a fantastic example of the leadership and service that defines our entire Kiwanis family:
